Frequently asked questions
Q: I’d like to drop-in, how can I schedule a class?
A: Wonderful! If you haven’t dropped in with us before, we will need a minimum of 48 hours notice to set up or link your pre-existing MindBody account so that we can get you scheduled and paid for prior to your desired class. If you’ve dropped in with us before, we just need a minimum of 24 hours notice and the class date and time you’d like to drop-in during (assuming you already have a linked MindBody account).
Q: Is it possible to drop-in without scheduling beforehand?
A: Unfortunately we do not accept drop-ins that have not contacted us prior to their class of interest. We have a smaller space so we do cap our class sizes. Showing up without scheduling beforehand will not guarantee a spot. Second, we only accept payment through MindBody (no cash, check or payment app) so we’ll need to process your drop-in purchase before you attend class.
Q: I’m a prospective member, what’s the best way to check out the gym?
A: That’s great! If you have previous functional fitness experience then we can set-up a time for you to tour the space and ask any questions you might have and/or take a free trial class!
Please contact by filling out the contact form or by emailing info@crossfitphinneyridge.com with your full name to get started. We can only guarantee staff will be present for a tour if you’ve contacted us beforehand so please do not show up without scheduling previously. Folks without previous CrossFit or functional fitness experience are also welcome to tour the gym! However, without previous experience, we will have you go through our Fundamentals series before joining group classes to make sure that you’ve been exposed to the major movements we incorporate in our programming. See the Get Started page for more information.
Q: I have previous functional fitness experience but it was a few years ago. Should I take Fundamentals or enter group class directly?
A: If you have more than 6 months of previous functional fitness experience then you are not required to take Fundamentals but the best option will depend on the individual. You can always set up a free trial class first and make a decision based on your experience.
Contact us by filling out the form here, or by emailing info@crossfitphinneyridge.com with your full name to set up your free trial class.
Q: I have non-functional fitness/non-strength training experience, am I still required to take Fundamentals?
A: Yes, while some movements cross over between different fitness modalities, we require all folks without functional fitness experience take Fundamentals to guarantee you are performing each movement with the points of performance we intend. This is to ensure your safety as you enter group class. The only way we can guarantee you are moving as intended is knowing folks have done functional fitness elsewhere or by going through our Fundamentals series.
Q: Are there any fitness prerequisites before joining group classes or Fundamentals?
A: You do not already need to be fit to have access to fitness!
There are absolutely no fitness prerequisites for joining group class (with previous functional fitness experience) or taking Fundamentals! All of our programming is modifiable and, therefore, accessible regardless of ability or injury history. We hope that by providing accessible, fun fitness programming that we can provide a means for improving the relationship all our members have with their bodies regardless of body type, age, disability, sex, gender identity, ethnicity etc.
